Please look at our rules and guidelines to understand all you need to know in order to organize a TEDx event. Please keep in mind we only license individuals who wish to organize for the community in which they permanently reside. We do not co-brand with organizations, groups, or companies unless they are organizing an Internal TEDx event. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organizers agree to abide by our format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more. Please see “Using TEDx in copy” (page 13) when referring to TEDx in body copy. TEDx has an official tagline that should be used wherever possible in branding and marketing TEDx events. We look for passion to spread ideas and bring communities together. Anyone, anywhere in the world, is eligible for a license to organize a TEDx event if their application abides by the TEDx guidelines outlined in the video on the Apply for a TEDx License page.

Most speakers actually have around 12 minutes or less to speak.
A TEDx event is not a platform for professional or circuit speakers, such as motivational speakers and professional life coaches–it’s a fine line between shameless self-promotion and wholesome self-reporting so, as a rule of thumb, if it feels like an advertisement, it probably is.
TEDx talks should be less than 18 minutes long and are typically delivered by a single presenter. Any video submitted outside of this format may not be published on the TEDx YouTube channel.
